Igniting Intuition: An Ode to Feminine Rage by Charlotte Cooper- A review

Igniting Intuition: An Ode to Feminine Rage by Charlotte Cooper- A review

Igniting Intuition, an Ode to Rage is a collection of 80 poems, many exclusive to this book. They span a two year period in which a woman wakes up to the toxicity of her marriage and begins her second divorce.
At times raw and visceral, the poems chart her journey through the depths of despair to the glory of empowerment all thanks to feminine rage.

This book is for any woman who has ever been told she’s too much, been gaslighted and manipulated by someone who was meant to love her. You don’t need bruises to prove abuse.

REVIEW

The book is about feelings, those that destroy you from the inside. The dark side you face when you are hurt. I have to say, the poems are really on the title. You can feel all the emotions while reading.

Again, as often as feelings that make us sad go, yes, reading this does make me sad. Because not every day, you get to read something that makes you feel connected to those who experience despair. And even when you read, you don’t feel that connected. But poetry has a way to connect us. Thats why, I can say, the raw emotion just encapsulates you here.

The thing I like the most is the hints everywhere where you can see the light approaching even in the dark. Yes, you can stand up after falling down. Like the empowerment that makes you feel that you are strong, stronger than you have ever been and have ever known.

I really recommend this book of poems.

This is about feelings and realization. The poems are so emotional that you connect with the feelings conveyed easily. The self-love hidden at the end of some poems makes me so happy.
Just how painful some things are, these are conveyed very well. As the title says, it is really about how we channel our feelings and feel s0 hurt and unhappy, but still try to emerge from them.
I loved reading each poem.
