Sweet Obsession by Danika Rose Lynn – A Review

Piper Easton and Simon Brooks are two souls torn apart by one tragic event. When fate reunites them, they have to make a choice: confront the shadows of their tumultuous past for the chance at true happiness, or let their sweet obsession become a bittersweet memory.

Piper seeks refuge in Sweetbriar to escape a life tainted by betrayal and abuse. Instead, she comes face-to-face with the only man to hold her heart before he shattered it twelve years ago. Now, the man Simon has become draws Piper in, and his commanding presence awakens conflicting desires within—guard her heart, or submit to him.

Simon regrets ever pushing Piper away, and he will move heaven and earth to prove his love. But in order for Piper to trust him, he has to earn her forgiveness—and to do that, he must first break down the walls meant to keep him at a safe distance.

As the spark of their young romance reignites, old wounds heal and reveal a bond that time and tragedy could never truly break—a bond that will be put to the test by the storm threatening to destroy their second chance at love before it truly begins.

Hi!

So this book is actually a second book in Sweetbriar Romance series by Danika Rose Lynn. I read the first book, Sweet Temptation and there’s my review on the site too.

Here it is!

So, yes after reading about Ellery and Beckham, this is the story of Ellery’s brother Simon, and his love, Piper! I have some beautiful pictures here about tropes from the author.

Beautiful, right? You will want to read it, I’m sure. The first book is awesome and the second book is awesome too 🙂

Now, what I liked the most was how Piper changed from being afraid to a hero. She was really traumatised but she fought back. Her friends and family all supported her. And, Simon was there till the end. Reading bit by bit, I felt closer to the characters and understood how each of them struggled but never gave up.

As I read, I was really hoping to see how they would solve the problem. Piper stood up for herself and she tried, she slayed her dragon. It was a really nice moment to read.

Also, the writing is very good. I read about their past, the moments, and even about other characters. It felt smooth. Explaining everything and also keeping it interesting, while also making me immerse myself in the world of Sweetbriar, is just awesome. As I said, I read Sweet Temptation first and it was great but I felt it finished too soon. Now the second book was longer but I still feel it was done soon, haha. Why do I just want to keep reading?

That aside, there is spice too.

You will find that Simon was waiting for Piper. It was shown in the first book too. It feels romantic that after all the time they spent away from each other, they were always each other’s home. The book series will make you go Aww, so sweet. Now I get the title, haha 🙂

Yes, so today is the book release day. Grab your copy today!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First, it was great seeing Ellery and Beckham from Sweet Temptation. And I loved Simon when I read the first book on the series. So, reading his story was really nice. Especially that he was so in love with Piper, it was really amazing.
The things Piper has gone through and how they all handled everything makes the reading enjoyable and it is easy to just love the characters. I really love how the author wrote everything making the book really perfect. It is really easy to love Sweetbriar.
The book has a really good pace so the flow feels smooth and I didn’t feel abrupt when it ended. So, I’m really excited for the next book in the series. Every character has their own story and their struggles resonate and you can feel it while reading.
Love this book!
