Ghost Hexed and Triple Realm Goddess by J.S.Malcom

Queen Fae Witch series by J.S. Malcom has two books – Ghost Hexed and Triple Realm Goddess and its the Book Release Day of the second book today!

To win this fight, I’ll need the help of my friends. First, I’ll need to convince them I’m only dead some of the time.

Here’s the thing about supernatural cleanup I make it look like work because that’s how I get paid. But, honestly, it’s easy. I show up, act friendly, get my client out of the way and then do my Veil Witch thing. Until the day comes when, just as I’m about to eject a ghost, I suddenly become one. Yeah, kind of confusing, seeing as the last time I checked I wasn’t dead.

At least, that’s what I thought but I soon learn otherwise. Somehow, I’ve become no longer physical. Like that’s not enough to freak me out completely, I discover that other things have changed. My sister and best friend, for example. As witches, they can both see me, but one no longer knows me and one acts like she wishes she didn’t. When all seems lost, I finally decide to take that ride through the big old tunnel of light, my expectation being to head off into the afterlife. Instead, I get spit out into Faerie where I’m once again very much alive. Yep, I’m definitely happy, but I’m also confused since things in this realm still seem the same. Or so I think until everything from the weather to the wildlife start acting like they’re possessed. As it turns out, they are, by someone who just laid claim to an ancient and malevolent power. The same someone who went back in time to have me erased. To set things right again may be impossible, but one thing is for sure. I don’t stand a chance without the help of my Shadow Order friends. The problem being, to them I either never existed or I’m already dead.

The good news is my friends now realize I’m only dead in their realm. The bad news is we may all soon be dead in this one.

As a Veil Witch, by now I thought I’d seen it all. Vampires, dark witches, poltergeists, body snatchers and demons. Not to mention the realms of both the Fae and the Half-Fae. So, why has no one ever mentioned Elves? I’m not talking about those cute little munchkins hanging out in the North Pole. I mean the bloodthirsty ones who serve as soldiers to an evil and murderous king. Thankfully, it’s also an Elf who takes our side when everything seems lost. Her name is Lianthra and she knows who we’re up against and why.

Now, the witches of the Shadow Order are faced with multiple missions. First, we need to rescue Revlen from where she’s being held prisoner in the realm of Alfheim. Then we need to recapture the Triplex Dea talismans so we can bring Esras back from the dead. As if that’s not enough on our shared magical plate, we need to find a way to break a blood curse cast long ago by a demented Fae princess. But for any of that to stick, we’ll need to defeat an enemy possessing magical powers the likes of which we’ve never seen. By which I mean the same twisted soul who used her magic to erase my past and just used it again to trap us all in a city kingdom turned into an island under siege. There I was thinking that having been granted a new life in this realm would allow me the time needed to pull off this mission. Instead, it looks like we better start hoping we’re all granted new lives in a third realm.

So, let me start with a funny thing that happened. You know, two or three years ago, I used to read so many review copies and that’s when I read books from this author. It was a book about another character and that’s where I met that character Cassie, who is the protagonist of this series. I checked the review I wrote then and guess what I found. I wrote I wanted to read a book about Cassie. And now I read it. It’s wonderful, right?

Let me start by saying that the book world or the book universe is just awesome. Most like the multiverse, because there are some parallel timelines too. But yeah, some books make you forget that you are reading, most do but sometimes, you just forge everything and when you finish reading, you feel like suddenly, wow, that’s awesome, the first book is exactly like that.

Review:

I’ll be reviewing both books so let’s start now.

So, we start with Cassie who is doing a ghost cleanup job. Awesome job, right? And that’s when she finds she somehow became a ghost! It was a great twist, haha. Cassie is a Veil Witch. And her becoming a ghost meant she died, that’s the whole point. She wants to leave but suddenly she remembers that she has family and she well, transports to her sister who obviously is really different.

Timelines, yes, the timeline has changed. Cassie has to switch everything back and so she goes to the Fae world where no one forgot her. There are disasters there because someone who wanted to rule the Fae is causing trouble. There’s a prophecy and the words from a dying queen, and obviously there are monsters too.

Now’s the time to see a spoiler

Esras dies to save Callie. And because, he didn’t directly die due to timeline change, its not clear whwther he could be brought back. It was really sad.

And at the end, we meet an Elf who has a way out. And wow, her story, or rather, her mother’s story is really interesting. You get to read it in the first chapter of the second book 🙂

Triple Realm Goddess

Whoo-hoo!

The second book started on a great note. We travel back in time and see some secrets of the former queen. I’m not telling you, ’cause you have to read this, yes!

Cassie has now assembled her team. We meet all the beloved characters who are the protagonists of their own series, wow, right? And they don’t leave her alone in her quest to sneak into the Alfheim to rescue a friend. It was so thrilling. I was literally on the edge of my seat, thinking what will happen next?

Now’s the time to see another major spoiler
Are you sure? You can scroll away, you know?
Cassie has to save her sister by exchanging herslef and she, dies. But, she gets the gem and maanges to come back to life and then saves Esras. I smiled liked an idiot after reading this 🙂

I cant just say how awesome it was reading this book series. It has magic, sister relationship, friendship, family, love, and romance. Not to forget, amazing plans by the villains. Everything to love in a fantasy book!
