When Glen purchases an old house in the Danish countryside, he doesn’t expect to find a door in the attic that leads to a bustling café. Inside, he meets Emilia, a woman from the 17th century whose graceful demeanour instantly captivates him. Despite the centuries separating them, an undeniable connection blooms between Glen and Emilia, even though, it is based on a much darker foundation than Glen is aware of.
As their bond deepens, Glen learns of Emilia’s dad’s desperate search for his wife, Anna, a mysterious time traveller who vanished after 30 years of marriage, leaving behind a torn family. But the café is not just a refuge—it is a place where time itself bends, with unpredictable and often dangerous consequences for those who cross its threshold.
Torn between love and reality, Glen and Emilia must navigate the fragile threads of time while confronting a cruel truth: their connection defies the natural order, and every moment they share comes at a cost. At last, as they reconnect with Anna, Emilia’s dad, Jakob, asks his daughter one final question that will change the timeline forever.
It is a sweeping tale of impossible love, sacrifice, and the haunting question—how far would you go for someone you were never meant to meet?
REVIEW:
Now this one is really really simple.
How far would you go for someone you were never meant to meet?
So, Glen really went far for his love. This one is a time travel story and two different time worlds are connected. We get to know how they are connected and how they work as we progress into the story. It was really enthralling to read how time travel messed with people, especially Glen. He craves for it and yet, hesitates. He is written really well.
That’s why I feel like the ending is realistic. Like you can’t get something out of nothing, especially when you are messing with places that take you travel in time.
The writing is really good. You feel like you are watching it unfold and thats awesome. Other characters are good but again, I was focused on Glen and the cafe. So, I feel like I’d love another story with this Time Travel Cafe.
A Spare Key by Line LangagerMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
It’s dazzling. The starting chapters are gripping actually because I couldn’t figure out what was going to happen, I was waiting to see if the timelines collapse but after reading the end, I wanted more.
The writing is captivating, I finished the book in a day because I couldn’t wait to know the ending. This has love, sacrifice, and balance with timelines merging.
Author, do we get a book from the same universe later?
